Poster depicting Black Star Gate in Accra, Ghana which was built to commemorate independence in 1957
For the base I use a Gold paint which shimmers in the light referencing one of Ghana’s most famous natural resources
Also incorporated are the adinkra symbols Ohen Adwae which represents Chieftaincy, the historic pillar of governance within the country. The other symbol is Akofena representing Swords of War and Heroism to highlight the sacrifices made to achieve independence
The print is framed by a series of Black Stars, the most prominent national symbol signifying African freedom, unity and independence.
I use high quality water based inks and gallery standard, heavy cotton Fabriano paper which ensures rich color vibrancy and immaculate detail, giving your print archival longevity
